COngratulations as always, a great race report. And great job getting your copper kettle!!!
Wow... what an adventure! Thanks for the great race report and congrats on enduring everything.
what a great report, thanks so much! congrats on an amazing run!!

Thanks... but I didn't get the copper kettle because of DNFing. But there is always next time.

Excellent write-ups, Tom! I finally caught up on the Greenland Race and I thoroughly enjoyed the writing and pics from Kettle Moraine. My friend Mindy and I are going to move into the ultrathon league. She just suffered a femoral stress fracture and my toe is still recovering from that stupid marathon. No more pavement. Loved the pictures from Kettle Moraine. Great blog for someone transitioning into ultrathons. Thanks!

Thank you! When you guys come out here for vacation we can run the trails.... if you don't mind waiting up for a slow-poke like me. I think I could spend the rest of my life running a new Black Hills trail every day and never get to see them all. I love it out here.

Oh Gosh, Somehow in all the excitement of the storm description, I missed that. How embarassing. I suppose I've been a little scattered as of late.

Great race report!

Your saga kept me on the edge of my seat as usual. Glad to see the 'copper kettle' prize didn't fog your decision making ability. Just say no to tornados, lightning and avalanches as a general rule.

Hope to see you at Lean Horse if not sooner.

Keep on inspiring!

I registered for the Lean Horse Hundred last night- so it is official. There will be no backing out for me now! I hope I'll get to see you there.

Even though your thirst for adventure and accomplishment is is a bit off the wall. I am glad to see that your decision making skills are still sound. Great race report. I had logged onto the kettle moraine website a number of times to check to see how you did but they were very slow in posting the finishers. Congrats on a great run, to a mere mortal like myself 41 miles and feeling good at the end is very inspiring. Talk to you soon.

Ed

Thanks, Ed.

The race organizers may have been slow in posting the finishers- but on that day, most of us were slow in finishing.

"In the process of completely exhausting myself, I connect with an inner part of me ordinarily veiled by the everyday distractions of life. During that short time spent on a trail in the mountains, my life is reduced to its simplest terms. Most ultrarunners are people who find goodness and joy in difficult times, who see beyond the misery to the beauty of nature, and who truly realize the elemental and important aspects of life. Going for a run always clears my head... but running 100 miles distills my soul." Keith Knipling - RUNNING THROUGH THE WALL
