Fixing Your Feet: Prevention And Treatments for Athletes

Fixing Your Feet: Prevention And Treatments for Athletes
This book has been highly recommended by many others. I finallly picked up my own copy last week at REI and have already read it cover to cover. I agree with the other reviews... this is THE definitive reference source for all things related to your feet! The author is a well-known foot specialist as well as ultrarunner who speaks from personal experience. This book is directed towards ultrarunners, adventure racers, long distance hikers and others who are hard to their feet; however, is valuable information here for all runners, walkers, hikers and just about anyone else who relies on keeping their feet healthy and pain-free. My feet have never given me too many problems other than a few black or lost toenails and an occasional blister. Nevertheless, I plan on making use of the detailed preventive information in this book so that hopefully this continues to be a the case. I highly recommend this book!

[this is good]
I'll have to check this out. My feet are okay, it's my ankle that bad, but this looks interesting.

"In the process of completely exhausting myself, I connect with an inner part of me ordinarily veiled by the everyday distractions of life. During that short time spent on a trail in the mountains, my life is reduced to its simplest terms. Most ultrarunners are people who find goodness and joy in difficult times, who see beyond the misery to the beauty of nature, and who truly realize the elemental and important aspects of life. Going for a run always clears my head... but running 100 miles distills my soul." Keith Knipling - RUNNING THROUGH THE WALL
